The Old Pulteney 1990 Vintage is a discontinued single malt Scotch whisky with a slight smoky character, owing to the casks having previously held heavily peated malt. Aged in a selection of hand-picked American oak ex-Bourbon barrels and Spanish oak ex-Sherry butts, it features a complex nose of warm wood smoke, sweet pear drops, green apples, and fragrant floral and citrus notes. On the palate, it offers a full-bodied and rich experience, with initial sweet honey notes quickly followed by a wave of thick peat smoke, spicy vanilla, toffee, and rum-soaked raisins. The finish is long and intense, filled with smoke, spices, and honey sweetness. While this vintage has recently been discontinued, it remains a highly sought-after choice for collectors and enthusiasts of premium single malt Scotch whiskies.
