Starting at the water source and ending at the tasting room – this is Old Pulteney from the ground up. Your guide walks you through every step we take. Then it’s over to you: four expressions from our core range, from Harbour to the 18 Year Old, to taste 200 years of coastal craftsmanship.

Experience the maritime character of Old Pulteney in a curated whisky and chocolate pairing, featuring handcrafted chocolates from a local chocolatier. Each chocolate is thoughtfully matched to its corresponding expression, enhancing and elevating the unique flavours of every dram.

The full picture. Production process, warehouse visit, and six expressions – including our 25-Year-Old and two exclusive single casks. Our guide covers every stage without shortcuts or omissions, then invites you to sit with some of the most considered whiskies we make. You leave with our crystal malt blender’s glass.

Yes. We recommend booking ahead – particularly during the summer.

Email us at distillery@oldpulteney.com or call us on +44 (0)1955 602371 and we’ll sort out the details.

Yes. Our shop and bar are open when we are. You can also bottle your own whisky from our single cask selection at any time.

We allow a 10-minute window. If you arrive after that, we’ll do our best to fit you onto a later tour where space allows.

Yes. We’ll provide small bottles of drivers’ drams, so you can taste your samples after your drive.

Some areas of the distillery have stairs. Please contact us before your visit and we’ll arrange an alternative route wherever possible.

Get here by train

ScotRail runs from Inverness to Wick – the line ends here. From the station, the distillery is a mile’s walk.

drive to us

We sit on the North Coast 500 route. Hire a car from Inverness and take your time getting here. Stay at Mackays Hotel – a short walk from the distillery – or at one of the many B&Bs in Wick.

Wick John O’Groats Airport is one mile north of our town, connecting you directly to Aberdeen Airport. From there you can fly to almost 30 destinations across the UK and Europe, including London and Edinburgh.
