The exceptional single malt, with individually numbered bottles, will be available to buy exclusively at the airport’s World of Whiskies store from the 14th September.
This rare, handpicked cask is non-chill filtered, has a natural colour, and has matured in an American Oak ex-bourbon cask, before being bottled in 70cl bottles at a natural cask strength of 51% ABV.
Pale gold in appearance with bronze highlights, Old Pulteney 1985 is scented with elegant fruit notes of apricots and pears, with a gentle balance of honey sweetness and a slight chocolate undertone. To taste, it is smooth with sugary honeycomb, slightly floral with fresh citrus and creamy chocolate. The finish is fruity and long-lasting.
The celebratory expression, which will retail at £275.00, will be presented in a cream canvas sailing bag, printed with the cask number and details of the Edinburgh International partnership. The bespoke packaging pays homage to our rich seafaring heritage, which gives the whisky its identity as ‘The Maritime Malt.’
There will be a dedicated display featuring the actual cask for four weeks, to showcase this exclusive to whisky aficionados.
