In the interests of the ‘entente cordiale’, and in collaboration with ‘La Maison du Whisky’, we’re delighted to announce the release of our first vintage single malt, available on general release through independent retailers in France.
The Flotilla 2000 was launched during this year’s spectacular Brest International Maritime Festival – a huge gathering of traditional craft from coracles and fishing vessels to towering windjammers. Eagerly awaited every four years, the event is a mecca for music lovers, photographers and adventure sailors.
The Old Pulteney Flotilla was distilled in 2000, at our coastal distillery here in Wick. 12 years of maturation have brought it an appearance of golden amber with straw highlights, an aroma of sweet and floral notes with hints of lemons, oranges and coconut and a taste that is sweet and spicy with a full-bodied and warm long-lasting finish.
The new vintage was unveiled during a seabound tasting session aboard the vintage tuna fishing boat the Etoile Morene. Specially selected guests joined Malcolm Waring, the Distillery Manager, for this exclusive gathering in a spectacular location linked to Pulteney by its sea faring history.
