Bolton town centre was bursting at the seams during the August Bank Holiday Weekend and we were there to offer visitors to the city’s food and drink festival a complimentary dram.
The Festival, now in its 11th year, received praise from event attendees, who came from far and wide to enjoy the culinary delights and celebrity chef demonstrations. As its official whisky partner, ‘The Maritime Malt’ Old Pulteney was thrilled to bring food and drink fans a taste of our rugged Wick home in the far north of Scotland, as well as celebrating its rich maritime heritage which stretches back to the distillery’s founding in 1826.
‘The Old Pulteney Drifter’ – our hand-crafted, boat-shaped driftwood bar – inspired by the seafaring heritage of our whisky, transported drinkers to the coastal home of Old Pulteney through driftwood cladding, a boat-shaped bar and sails. Old Pulteney ambassador, Aiden Byrne, also appeared at the festival where he served up the delicious main course at the VIP Gala Dinner, after which guests enjoyed a dram of our 12 Years Old single malt. Aiden, who is Chef Patron of Manchester House, also carried out cooking demonstrations which delighted crowds along with a dram of Old Pulteney.
