We’re thrilled to announce that in celebration of our costal home in Northern Scotland and long association with the sea Old Pulteney will be joining thousands of sailing enthusiasts at this year’s International Maritime Festival in Brest, France.
The French International Maritime Festival, now in its 20th year, is getting ready for its 7th edition to be held from 13 to 19 July 2016. Organisers have promised that the 2016 edition marks the start of a new chapter that will build on past experiences and “take the festival to the next level”, and we couldn’t be more excited to be part of it! Each day hundreds of boats from sailing ships to yachts and traditional craft will be showcased. What’s more the music will be a guest of honour as the festival pays tribute to both the long oral tradition of seamen with the sea shanties, and the current and emerging music performed on stages around the world for an audience eager to celebrate yesterday’s, today’s and tomorrow’s artists. And, what better way to soak up the atmosphere than with a dram of maritime malt in hand.
Whisky fans can pay our stand a visit in zone M5 for the unique opportunity to sample our French exclusive, Flotilla 2005. This Limited Edition vintage whisky is matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. Over the years, the casks gently absorb the northern sea breeze, giving the whisky its smooth, complex flavours and coastal characteristics – the perfect accompaniment to Brest’s International Maritime Festival, we’re sure you’ll agree!
What’s more we’re partnership with esteemed local restaurant ‘Les Freres de la Cote’, who for the duration of the festival will be featuring an Old Pulteney inspired menu. See details below to whet your appetite:
