Our Rise With The Tide series shares the stories of those who, like Old Pulteney, have worked in close partnership with the sea to do remarkable things.
In the second part of our mesmerising animation series, meet ship cook turned harbour master, George Carlo-Paat. After joining a ship’s crew, George started upon an epic adventure, pushing the boundaries of her profession to become a Merchant Navy ship captain.
Seeing her captain’s license as a first-class ticket to see the world, George spent 20 years at the helm, returning to shore, only to take on a new role as Harbour Master, continuing her lifelong connection with the sea.
Why not transport yourself to the coast by immersing yourself in her story?
Worm tubs vs shell-and-tube condensers
Pulteney Distillery is one of a handful of whisky distilleries in Scotland to still use traditional worm tubs. We are firm believers that the type of condensers you use has a real impact on the spirit and gives our new make spirit its beefy, full-bodied characteristics.
