The Highland Whisky Festival is bringing together the finest distilleries along the famous North Coast 500 route.

2019 saw the infamous Highland Whisky Trail being named one of the Lonely Planet’s ‘Best in Travel’ destinations, and to mark this eight Highland Whisky Distilleries including Old Pulteney, Clynelish, Balblair, Glenmorangie, The Dalmore, The Singleton of Glen Ord and Tomatin are celebrating by coming together for The Highland Whisky Festival.

Bringing together the finest distilleries along the famous North Coast 500 route, each distillery will be opening its doors and hosting exclusive events and tastings between the 10th and the 17th of May 2019, an event not to be missed for even the most seasoned of whisky aficionados.

At Pulteney Distillery, we’re delighted to be offering a variety of Pulteney experiences including The Pulteney Tour, Malcolm Waring’s Masterclass and the Highland Whisky Festival exclusive Pulteney Pairings on Saturday the 11^th May.

The Pulteney Tour

Intimate and enlightening, the Pulteney Tour provides a great taste of what it takes to produce our whisky and is an ideal way to get acquainted with our historic home.

You will experience a behind-the-scenes tour of our distillery. Of course, no tour is complete without sampling the end product, and this one concludes with a dram of our definitive 12-Year-Old and one other selected Pulteney dram.

Tour Times: 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 and 15.00.

General tour with additional expressions price: £25

Malcolm Waring’s Masterclass

Intimate Whisky Masterclass with Distillery Manager, Malcolm Waring. Learn about Old Pulteney and taste Malcolm’s favourite drams in one of our private warehouses, which is not open to the general public.

Run exclusively for The Highland Whisky Festival, this one and a half hour, masterclass is a once in a lifetime experience.

Masterclass Times: 11:00

Price: £100 – A donation from the ticket price will be donated to a local charity.

Please note that Malcolm Waring’s masterclass is for people over the age of 18.

Pulteney Pairings

A tasting masterclass which includes five whiskies; our new core range and the distillery hand bottling. Each whisky is tasted by Malcolm Waring and is expertly paired by our chef.

Hosted in our Distillery tasting room, this one-hour masterclass will allow you to taste Old Pulteney 12, Huddart, 15, 18 and the single cask from our Distillery, paired with a menu using local ingredients created by our chef.

Price: £40
