2019 is looking to be an exciting year for us here at Old Pulteney as we’ll be setting sail and bringing our fleet of whiskies to festivals around the globe, and with the help of our Brand Ambassadors we’ve put together a list of first-rate whisky festivals around the world.

First up on our list is the UK and Europe, throughout the week we’ll also be covering the USA and Asia, so if you’re interested in not to miss whisky festivals, you’ve docked in the right place.

February 2019 – Viking Line Whiskymässa

Sailing through the stunning archipelago of islands around Stockholm, this one of a kind Whisky gathering will take you from Stockholm, Sweden to the Finnish port of Mairenhamn and back overnight, whilst sampling a huge selection of whiskies exclusive to Travel Retail (and some exclusive to the Viking Line itself) and enjoying food and live music.

Top Tip: The Viking Line consists of three sailings, each with its own unique atmosphere. If you’re after single casks, rarities and collectables – board on Thursday, and if you’re looking to enjoy your evening with good company and waves of liquid gold then the sailings leaving the dock on Friday or Saturday are for you.

May 2019 – Highland Whisky Festival

Old Pulteney along with seven other Highland distilleries will host visitors from around the world, showcasing their centuries of tradition, process and craft through exclusive tastings, tours and events. It’s an unmissable experience for even the most seasoned of whisky enthusiasts.

The Scottish Highlands were named one of the Lonely Planet’s ‘Best in Travel’ destinations 2019,  and the new Highland Whisky Festival brings together eight famous Distilleries celebrating the well-established Highland Whisky Trail. If you can’t wait until the festival you can book a tour of Pulteney Distillery via our website, here.

Top Tip: The Highland Whisky Festival takes part on 300 miles of coastline which has been named one of the top coastal routes in the world, the North Coast 500 – why not add on a few more days to your trip and really enjoy the scenery.

August 2019 – Whisky Fringe, Edinburgh

The month of August is said to be the best time to visit Edinburgh, as the city buzzes with all the activity from the Edinburgh Fringe. It’s a fitting occasion to sample some of the best whiskies around and the Whisky Fringe organised by Royal Mile Whiskies, is the perfect opportunity to taste rare and interesting drams.

Top Tip: Be sure to use your token for the Half Time Orange Dram, it’s your chance to try something rare that exhibitors have brought along.

September 2019 – Whisky Live Paris

If you’re only ever going to attend one whisky festival in your life, our Brand Ambassador Team think that Whisky Live Paris should be the one. There’s some of the finest liquid gold on offer and ‘Cocktail Street’ which accompanies the show, not to mention master classes, a collectors’ area and the store, the show in the French capital is unquestionably the largest whisky and fine spirits tasting event in Europe.

Top Tip – The exhibitors after party on Sunday night is likely to end up at the Golden Promise bad in the 2nd arrondissement. Stop by for an informal chat with Blenders, Distillers and Ambassadors from your favourite brands.
